DEU Clinical Outcomes

Consistency in the clinical setting involves the student producing the expected standard of work throughout a period of time (minimum of 3 occurrences). Once the student demonstrates consistency, she/he will progress to the next tier. Students are expected to function at a minimum of Tier 4 at the end of the clinical rotation.

*Formulate and implement a nursing care plan for clients with only DEU PRECEPTOR oversight:

  1. Uses two client identifiers when providing care, treatments, or services
  2. Correlates trends (labs, vital signs) with the client's medical status
  3. Conducts and timely documents accurate assessments and interventions
  4. Demonstrates professional interactions with clients and families
  5. Documents appropriate teaching and client learning in EPIC
  6. Reports critical areas (labs, vital signs, assessments, diagnostic tests) on a timely basis
  7. Coordinates care consults as appropriate (i.e., PT, OT, dietary, respiratory)
  8. Obtains SBAR and delivers SBAR report as needed
  9. Demonstrates time management skills (timely charting, provides routine care)
